As Zara discreetly dashed through the woods, she would make sure, every once in a while, that Ana was keeping up. As she expected, Ana had good stealth and endurance skills. She assumed these were a product of running away from hunters.
They came into a clearing, deep into the thick woods. She stopped in front of what appeared to be a giant wall of vines. "look closely" she told the girl. Behind the vines was a century old castle, that appeared to be in ruins. Zara ran strait for the wall, and disappeared amid the vines. As she went through the plants, she turned into her human form.

Jahanara followed Zara through the vines and she, too, turned back to human form when they were inside. She stretched and said, "Well, now, that was fun! But where are we now?"

"come with me." she began walking through the long hallways. At first, they all looked as if they had been abandoned for centuries, but they came into a room that revealed the try beauty of the castle. The room was a dinning hall, which looked as if it had been used the same day. Torches here and there lit up the large room. The kept on walking, through more rooms similar to the one they had just went through. "you will find there are plenty of rooms to sleep. If you choose to stay, you are welcome to take one as your own." She then turned around toward the girl. "if you wish to eat, you must learn to hunt. You must know that skill having lived on your own for so long, am i right?"

"Of course...yes, yes I can hunt." Jahanara was in awe. This place was beautiful...it looked so old but it had a certain elegance, too. She continued to follow Zara, wondering where they were heading.

She turned around and said "well, i must say i am hungering for a meal....what about you?" she smirked, as her eyes glowed yellow.

Jahanara returned the smirk. "Oh yes...this forest is crawling with life, I can feel it. Where do you propose we start?"

With her devilish smile, she said "i think i know just the place...unless you wish to lead the hunt" she was very interesting in seeing jahanara's hunting skills.

Jahanara's eyes became yellow. "If you say so..." She grinned mischieviously. Jahanara turned back into a wolf and swept quietly out of the room. She left the castle and stopped, sniffing the air and ground for the scent of some unlucky creature. After going back and forth and forward and back for a minute, she finally picked up the scent; some stupid human had just passed by here. The human was stupid because he passed through Lycan territory, and Lycans most definitely do not approve of trespassing...
Jahanara set off swiftly and silently through the underbrush. Her paws made no sound as they treaded lightly on the soft ground beneath her, and no part of her touched anything that could have made noise. Then, she came to a footpath, and turned left, travelling up it, still as silent as ever. Suddenly, she stopped. Her yellow eyes positively sparkled with bloodlust. She sprang noiselessly into the trees as the human turned around to look behind him. He was young...couldn't have been more than 25. Young, tender flesh, awaiting her claws and jaws...
Jahanara stalked him from behind the trees. When she was within 5 feet of him, she suddenly leapt out of the bushes and nailed him in the back. He collapsed, full of fright and pain. Her claws dug into his shoulders, and as he let out a scream that would have echoed if it weren't for the trees, she sank her fangs into his throat. He twitched for but a few moments, but then lay still. Blood continued to gush from his exposed jugular, and she turned to face Zara....it was obvious to anyone around that she was smirking. "Dig in," she said gleefully.

Zara had been quietly following, in her wolf form. She was very pleased at how fast Jahanara had found prey. She laughed as much as a wolf could laugh, and walked toward the dead human. She delighted in the taste of fresh warm blood. She slowly ate, watching Jahanara at the same time. She kept her ears up, listening intently for any unwelcome sound. After all, you could never know what to expect in these woods.

Once Zara had taken her first few bites, Jahanara joined in. The flesh was still warm, the blood, sweet...it was an excellent meal. Once they had stripped the body of all the good meat, Jahanara took the liberty of dragging the body through the brush and to a little ditch she had encountered while stalking him. Any scavengers around could take care of the rest...and the guilt came again.
It was only one part of her mind, in the human half, obviously...ever since he had come into her life...
Even though he had broken her heart, it was because of him that Jahanara felt a small pang of guilt whenever she fed on human flesh. That was why she had abstained, as much as possible, from eating humans since she was driven out of her home. But she wasn't about to let Zara know this; she would think it a weakness. Jahanara simply shook it off, just as she had done every other time it came.
She returned to Zara and said, "So, where to now?"

Zara intently watched Ana, while her ears twitched around identifying any and every sound. She stared at her companion, as if she could see right through her. "Before we continue, I would like to know what troubles you my dear." her voice rang in Ana's head. Zara's body straightened and her posture became imposing, but her voice was soft and kind.

Jahanara's wolfish eyes displayed a sadness that gave away the fact that she was part human. She shook her head slowly, and her voice was a gentle whisper in Zara's mind. "What ails me is something that no one can fix, that no one can cure...I was in love, Zara..." Then, the voice was louder, "I WAS IN LOVE!"
Jahanara bolted, her flying feet carrying her back to the castle. She burst through the entrance and ran to a beautifully decorated bedroom, with lovely carpets and a soft heather bed. But Jahanara was far too distraught to appreciate these things. She changed back into a human and collapsed onto the bed, burying her face into a cloud-like pillow, shoulders heaving with sobs. Zara couldn't understand, not unless she had felt this herself. Zara must think me a weakling. Oh, I am weak, weak for allowing this to cut me so deeply...

Zara watched Jahanara run to the castle. She took human form as she went through the wall of vines. Her expression was grave. "Ana....there is something you must understand. We are at war in this country. A war that could destroy everything magical that is left!" her voice was loud and dark. "We must put our personal emotions aside, so that we are able to fight." she then took a few steps toward Ana. Her expression became one of concern and gentleness. Her voice became as soft as a ballad "But believe me, most people who arrive in this country have had their share of troubles, including me." she smiled a bit, taking Ana's chin in her palm. "but one saying i love is what does not kill you makes you stronger." She then moved slowly away. She had suprized herself at how gentle she had been with the girl.

Jahanara looked up at Zara with puffy, reddened eyes. Her hair had become wild, the bedclothes and pillows gone askew. But she was calmed by Zara's words, for she was right. She absentmindedly fixed her hair and took a few deep, but quiet, breaths. "I apologize, Zara," she said quietly, "But my emotions have always been my strength as well as my weakness." She lowered her head, partly in shame, partly in weariness. She continued, "If I could have a few moments to collect myself, I will meet you back in the main hall."

"alright." she said "but you do have to understand that in this war, we cannot afford any mistake." she then looked straight into her eyes, with much ardor "ANY mistake." She then turned around, and left the room, her long cloak trailing behind her. "I cannot believe I was so gentle with her" she thought, somewhat reproachful to herself. She then thought about the other things she said and realized she had probably used the right tones but most importantly she had said what she wanted and needed to say.
