Levex walked into the town, and looked around. The area was surprisingly full of people, seeing as night had fallen several hours previously, and many of them were giving him strange looks. They may have already seen Drow, and known of their reputations, or he may have been the first to set foot inside Saris. Either way he didn't know, and he didn't particularly care. His appearance was strange, by most standards. His skin was black, his hair was a brilliant white, and his eyes were a deep red. His ears and chin were more pointy than the average human, clearly defining him as elven, however his nose was more reptilian than humanoid, and a close inspection would reveal scales behind his ears. He wore a standard travelers outfit, black, with a chainmail shirt underneath. A longsword was attached to his hip, and he had a dagger in each boot.
He had been traveling for several weeks, his band had banished him, due to a minor technicality in moralities. He wasn't as evil as they were, and they refused to accept him for it. He had heard rumors of Saris, and how it was home to many different races, so he had sought it out in an attempt to find a new home. Now he was there, and what he needed was a long sleep, however that meant finding a tavern. He looked around, and didn't find any in the immediate vicinity. So he started to walk around, looking lost in the hope that someone would come and help him.

Nighttime was so interesting in Saris. All of the nocturnal creatures came out and the lights were especially fun. Some were your average lights, others were magical and changed colors and floated about on their own - lending light to anyone who needed it. Currently a pale green light was floating beside her. She pushed her honey brown hair out of her eyes and looked down upon the unsuspecting prey. She needed to feed soon.
Well actually she didn't need to feed, but she wanted to. As she was searching for a stray human or such she spotted something even more interesting than the city, a Drow. Drow didn't normally frequent the city as they were known to practice darker magic and with the Goddess' temple right in town - fairly opposed to dark magic... Kesne dropped over the side of the building and silently to the ground.
She weaved through the crowds to get closer to the Drow, but the closer she got the better she could smell him and the more obvious it was that he wasn't just Drow. He was part dragon. Kesne was quite intrigued now, being half-dragon herself. She kept an eye on him and noticed that he seemed lost. So she approached from beside him. "Hey, are you lost?" She asked him. If no one else was completely willing to help him she would. Especially if he was part dragon. She rarely saw her own mix-breed kind.

Levex kept his guard up while he walked, Drow were usually unwelcome in towns, and he didn't know how these people were likely to react to him. He noticed something flying over head, but payed it no attention, until it landed and started following him. He kept walking, thinking that it might give up, but it didn't. It approached him from the side, and he turned towards it, ready to attack if necessary, when it said "Hey, are you lost?"
He had a chance to get a proper look at his pursuer now. A female humanoid, but something was different about her. He couldn't quite work out what, but she was definitely hiding something. "Yes, as a matter of fact I am." He replied politely, looking her up and down, trying to work out what felt wrong, then something clicked. She was part dragon too. He wasn't sure how he knew, it was probably some part of his dragon ancestry telling him, but he couldn't be sure. It wasn't, however, something that needed to be worked out now. "I've had a long journey," He explained, "and i would be most grateful if you could point me in the direction of somewhere fairly safe and cheep to spend the night. Unless of course you know of somewhere better than a tavern." He smiled at her, but he kept his hand by the hilt of his sword. He had always been weary of other people, especially those who were able to fight without weapons, and he knew just how strong people with dragons ancestors could be.

Kesne managed a kind smile, slightly unusual for her, but she knew so few part-dragons like herself. He seemed on edge, not that she could blame him. He explained that he needed somewhere fairly safe to stay because he had had a long journey. She didn't doubt that. Any journey in the outer world was long and any journey within Dreygen, with all the people about now, was hard.
She saw his hand on his sword, and though it was slightly offensive, she understood. "All of the taverns around here are expensive. They're taking advantage of the fact that some many people need a place to stay. Most are full anyway." She looked up and down the street and then sighed, pulling him aside into an empty alleyway. There she allowed her human form to take over, blonde hair and blue eyes shining through. "It's easier to get through town in this form." She explained. Her fangs and the bloodlust in her eyes in her vampiric form drew more attention than she liked sometimes.
She headed out the other end of the alley and motioned for him to follow. Normally she didn't bring just anyone back to the Allorian clan's home, but he was a part dragon without a home. She couldn't just let him wander and be robbed of his money by greedy tavern owners. Besides, she had nothing to fear from him. She was the Allorian clan leader and one of the most powerful creatures in Dreygen. Born and raised in the magic of the land. She didn't say anything about where they were going though.
It wasn't smart to talk of such things in the open. She passed by a stall selling food and stopped, buying a few things and smiling, chatting briefly with the merchant. All of that business that got you through town undisturbed. When they reached the edge of Saris she stopped, waiting to make sure the Drow kept up.

Levex followed the girl into the alley, and watched as her features changed. She also said something about it being easier to travel in that form, but he didn't pay too much attention. Her lineage was none of his business, and if she wanted to tell him then there would be a better time and place. He remained silent as they traveled through the town, and didn't buy anything at any of the stalls they passed. Most of the merchandise was expensive, and he had little money as it was, and then there was the fact that none of the merchants looked trust worthy, so any of the food could have been poisonous.
When they got to the edge of town, he moved closer to the girl, so that they could talk with a lower risk of being over heard. "I'm inclined to trust you slightly, seeing as how you haven't tried to kill me yet," He murmured, his voice quiet so only she could hear, "but you still haven't introduced yourself, or given any mention as to where you are leading me. I understand that these things are probably best not overheard, but I'd like at least some basic information before going much further." His hand rose to hover near the hilt of his sword again as he added, "No offense, but I don't like being kept in the dark longer than necessary, or being led into traps." There was nothing threatening in his voice, and he trusted her more than anyone else at that moment, but seeing as how most of the people he knew wanted to kill him for one reason or another, that wasn't saying much.

Kesne stopped as the Drow came closer and mentioned how she had not introduced herself. She looked around and then sighed seeing no one nearby in a low whisper she said. "You have not introduced yourself either, sir. If you must know though I am one of the leaders of the clans here in Dreygen. I help Cydria look after things. I'm taking you to my home where you may rest safely. I can not say where for that would endanger my people."
She said no more, ignoring his hand on the hilt of his sword. She didn't even press for his name or anything. Some would call her too trusting, but in fact she just felt safer not knowing. Unless they provide it willing. It was better in case she was ever questioned or such. Only know the information they want her to know so that she can answer truthfully and not give away anything they wouldn't want known.
She finally continued out of town, even if the Drow decided he wasn't following. She hadn't found a meal so she'd need to get home anyway and eat something. Blood, real food, whatever there was. She then stopped suddenly, spotting a young man wandering shadily under a tree and looking like he was up to something. Sure enough a man passed with a horse and the younger one pulled a knife. Before he could do anything though Kesne was there, snapping the younger's arm behind his back and sinking her fangs into his neck.
She didn't kill him, but she drank until he passed out and stole the nice knife he was about to use. She tucked it in her belt and then walked back to where she had been, continuing along her way and wiping a stray trickle of blood from the corner of her lips. Well there was dinner. Now she could go home and sleep if she wanted. Either way she was heading home.

The girl had a point, Levex thought, but it was usually polite for the person who starts conversations to be the first to give their names. He followed her out of the town, and watched as she attacked another man, drinking his blood. Ah, a vampire, i thought there was something different about her. He smiled, and waited for her to finish her meal.
When she had finished eating, he walked along the path behind her. "After that display, your home seems a lot safer than the streets." He said, then added "I'm Levex." He followed in silence, the girl had been god enough to spare his life and offer him shelter, if she wanted to keep her name secret then it was fine by him.
