Let it be known, there is one race of Vampires, descended from an ancient line, that has the ability to use magic. That race is the Diabolì Noctum. Today, the leader of the clan, Kellan, was practicing her magic in the Ruins of Merith. Here, long ago, before it became ruins, but after it belonged to others of darker magic, it was used as a place of dueling and creation by the Diabolì Noctum. Then the great evil stored in it's depths was unlocked by one horrible and unloyal member of the clan. The rest all fought to stow it away, but only one had the power. Keloryn of Derthania. She recaptured the evil, but it was too late. The damage was done and Merith had to be cast into the sea.
((Ok, history lesson over))
Kellan raised her hands casually over her head and had them weave an intricate design. In the end it looked as is a teal, glowing carpet hung before her as she slowly brought her hands, still weaving in and about eachother, down to rest on the stone alter. Then she released the hold on the wall of symbols and it fell over the tablet before her.
In one loud, thunderous clap, a woman appeared. She wore the same green robes, only her hood was down around her shoulders, while Kellan's covered her face. The woman stepped off the altar and Kellan moved back to allow her room.
"If he wants to join powers, then I shall to. I can not let him destroy my home like the Dark Overlord." Kellan said to the woman, who nodded and smiled mischeviously. "Will you take my hand and allow me to absorb your powers?"
The woman held out her hand. "Of course. I have been waiting for you for a long time, Keloryn of Derthania."
"I am not Keloryn. I am Kellan of Armetan."
The woman looked puzzled for a moment, but then smiled anyway. "Well, whoever you are, I shall choose you as a vessel for my power." She grasped Kellan's forearm, near the elbow, and a bright teal light filled the room.
When it subsided the woman was gone and Kellan had changed. Her hair was no longer brown, but jet black, and her eyes were the deepest emerald green, naturally, that anger would not have far to go to make them black. She looked like she was possesed, but in one motion of her hand her hair and eyes turned back to normal.
She smiled knowingly and walked from the ruins and into the sunlit outside. She stretched and looked around to see the ruins, and beyond them to the sloping, green, grassy hills that led to Dovich. Perhaps she'd make a visit.
